Learner FAQs

How do I log in to UAccess Learning?

Go to http://learning.uaccess.arizona.edu. (Or, go to http://uaccess.arizona.edu and select UAccess Learning.) Use your NetID and password to login.

I can't log in to UAccess Learning.

You must be either a University employee or student who is engaged in university business towards a degree. Additionally, off-campus access to UAccess Learning requires the VPN. If you meet these criteria and still can't log in, contact 24/7 for assistance.

I have a blank screen once I log in. What is wrong?

I have a screen with the message, "Attention! You have reached this page in error. Please return to the link that brought you to this page." Why can't I see any information?

In the same browser, return to the url you initially clicked on in order to log into UAccess Learning. For many, this is uaccess.arizona.edu. Click on the Learning link again. You should be logged into UAccess Learning.

If you continute to have issues, contact 24/7 to open a ticket.

I have a screen that just says "Welcome." Why can't I see any information?

I can't see the sign out/Favorites/Main Menu/Home link at the top of the page.

You may have resized your browser. Press CTRL-0 (zero) or zoom out until you can see the Sign Out button.

What browsers can I use with UAccess Learning?

Most of the recent versions of Internet Explorer, Safari, and Firefox are supported. If your browser is not supported for eLearning, you will receive a message with instructions when you attempt to launch eLearning.

I receive a Java error message in a pop-up window in the browser. What do I need to do?

Update your version of Java.

Why have the Favorites drop down menu and the Main Menu drop down move above the system banner?

This change is part of an upgrade from the vendor. It has also occurred throughout UAccess Student and UAccess Employee.

I am in UAccess Learning and I clicked Find Learning and I don't see any classes. What is wrong?

If you just logged in to UAccess Learning for the first time today, wait until tomorrow. Your record should be updated tomorrow. If you still have a problem tomorrow, contact the 24/7 to open a service ticket.

How do I search for a class?

Go to Quick Links, Find Learning and in Search by keyword type in the title of the course. If you only enter partial words, use a wildcard (*). For example, "trav*" will return all results that contain the string "trav."

I'm a new employee. How do I find classes I should take?

On the main page select Find Learning in the Quick Links pagelet. Use the filters on the left side to refine your search: choose the category Recommended for All Employees.

I'm a student who needs to take a class to work in a lab. Where do I find the class?

On the main page select Find Learning in the Quick Links pagelet. Use the filters on the left to refine your search: Choose the category Subject; then click the category Research.

I'm looking for the Student Catalog of Classes.

UAccess Learning is not the right system. Please use the Student Center. Go to www.arizona.edu. Select Menu. Select Current Students. Select UAccess Student. Select Student Center and login.

How do I set the number of rows that appear on my page in Find Learning?

Go to Main Menu > Self Service > Personal Information Home. Scroll down if necessary. Click the Update Learner Preferences button and make any changes you want to.

How can I sort class offerings if there are many offered sessions?

Select Find Learning. Select View Details above the Classes listed. Click on column headings to sort.

How do I search by additional criteria?

Go to Quick Links, Find Learning. Click Advanced Search at the top of the page. A drop down will open and you can search by additional criteria. Click search and you will be able to view the offerings.

How do I enroll into a class?

Login to UAccess Learning. Click Find Learning in the Quick Links pagelet. Select a class within the catalog and click Enroll.

Will I be notified when I enroll in a class?

You will receive an email notification that you are enrolled. These run every night. Look for the confirmation the next day after you enroll.

Will I receive a reminder for a class I'm enrolled in?

Each offering department will send a reminder email notification several days in advance of the actual class to remind you to attend.

Can I see my enrolled classes on a calendar? Can I view the calendar in other clients?

A calendar view of your enrollments is available by going to My Learning and clicking View Calendar. Integration with Microsoft Outlook and other calendar applications is not yet available but is being explored.

Will I be notified when a class in cancelled.

I have enrolled in a class. How do I access the assignments and schedule?

Click My Learning in the Quick Links pagelet. Click the Class Title link. Scroll down to access the class syllabus, which contains all assignments and links to schedule.

I don't see anything when I try to Launch materials from a Class Syllabus.

You must enable pop-up windows for UAccess Learning within your browser.

How can I print a training guide?

If the training guide is available online for the class in question, you can find it by clicking on My Learning and selecting the class title. Scroll down to the syllabus. If the training guide is available, there will be a link to download it listed in the syllabus.

How many minutes is UAccess Learning system time out set to allow?

120 minutes. This allows time for self paced assessments and classes to be completed.

I tried to launch an eLearning module, and the window opened, but no content is displaying.

Make sure that your browser and Java are up-to-date and that you are using a supported browser. If they are all up-to-date contact 24/7 for assistance.

I completed an eLearning module and then clicked Return to Previous Page and got an error message that told me that the workaround was to click on Learning Home.

This is a known issue. We are waiting for a correction from the software vendor. In the meantime, click on Learning Home and then return to My Learning.

How do I contact someone if I have a question about a class?

Go to My Learning and select the title of the learning. The contact name appears on the top right of the page. Click the name to directly email the contact person. The Notes & Attachments sections frequently have contact information as well.

How do I find any classes I have taken?

Go to My Learning and change the View drop down list to select how to display your taken, current, and incomplete enrollment.

How do I view my learning plan?

Go to Learning Plan in Quick Links to view current learning plans and learning plan history.

How can I see what classes my manger has planned for me to take?

In Quick Links, select Learning Plan. Select the "Details" link of "My Learning Plan." Click the Enroll button to see class options to fulfill the assigned course.

Why don't I have a drop button for this class in My Learning?

1. You cannot drop classes that your manager has enrolled you in. Your manager will need to drop you from the class. Or, 2. Some classes cannot be dropped after the start date. Look at the Class Details for the contact person to see whether you can be dropped.

How do I fix a class which has been added to my learning plan in error?

The individual who added it to your plan needs to remove the error. Please contact this person. Their name is listed in the Assigned By column on your Learning Plan.

When do I have to complete classes on my plan?

By the date identified in the Learning Plan details. Please contact the person in the "Assigned By" column if you have questions.

I need a certificate for a class I completed.

Navigate to My learning. Change the View to "05 - Completed & Waved Learning." Click the printer icon in the Print column.

What if a class is not offered?

Use the Find Learning link in Quick Links and then click Request New Learning at the top right to make a request.

How do I view my completed certifications?

Go to Quick Links for Certifications and view any certifications you have completed. Visit My Learning to view certifications currently in progress.

When do I have to recertify for a certification?

You will receive an email notification when you need to recertify. Complete as soon as possible after this notification.

When does a certication expire?

A certification expires when the job runs to notify a learner. This job runs at 11:23 pm each night.

Manager/Supervisor FAQs

Where do I get information regarding what an employee has taken in UAccess Learning?

Click View All Learning in the Business Manager Quick Links. You will be able to review learning for everyone in your department.

How do I view Team Learning Plans?

In Manager Quick Links, click Team Learning Plans. Click the title of the Learning Plan next to the team member whose plan you want to review. (Team members may have multiple active learning plans.)

How do I view employees' certifications?

In Manager Quick Links, click Team Certifications. Select All Certifications in the View dropdown list. Select the Team Member you want to view. Click Go. All completed certifications will display.

How do I sign someone who reports to me up for learning?

In Manager Quick Links, click Team Members. Select the Team Member(s) and, under Group Action, select Enroll (for classes) or Register (for Certifications and Curricula) and click Go. Select Learning and click Enroll/Register.

If I assign a class to an individual will they get a notification?

A notification will be sent to the learner if you have enrolled them in a class. Currently, no notification is sent if learning is simply added to a plan, though this is being explored.

Can you see learning data for multiple employees at once?

Analytics will be available to allow you to see a full list of people in a department and that they have finished a specific course.

I'm trying to enroll my employees in a class, but only see curricula and certifications.

In Group Actions on the Team Members screen, make sure you choose Enroll to find classes. If you choose Register, you will only see curricula and certifications.

If any employee took the training a number of years ago, can I have them take it again?

If the history is available, you will be warned that it was already taken but won't be prevented from enrolling them again (or assigning it to their plan).

If I do not see an employee who reports to me in Team Members, what should I do?

UAccess Learing gets its people data from UAccess Employee, so you wil need to make sure that your employees reporting information is correct in UAccess Employee. (Work with your business office for this.) Within a couple of days of the information being corrected in UAccess Employee, it will be updated in UAccess Learning. (Note: Pooled student worker positions may not sync accurately between Employee and Learning.) If you have additional questions, contact Systems Control.

Can I see employees who report to someone who reports to me?

Go to the Manager Quick Links and select Team Members. You can view the additional employees who report to someone else by selecting the Team Member who reports to you in the drop down and clicking Go.

Do I need to become a Training Coordinator if I'm also a Manager?

If you only manage training for people who report to you, no. If you need to manage training for others, yes.

Click Manage Learning Plans in the Business Office Quick Links. Search for learners and view their learning plans.

Where do I enroll employees in classes within UAccess Learning?

After you add a course to a learner's Learning Plan, you will see an Enroll button on the Plan. Click and select a class to enroll the learner in. You WILL NOT be able to register learners for Certifications & Curricula. You can only add those to their plan, then they can register themselves.

I added learning to a learner's learning plan in error. How do I correct the mistake?

Click Maintain Learning Plans in the Business Office Quick Links. Search for the learner. Click on the appropriate Learning Plan. Click the trash can next to the the learning that you want to remove.

I'm tryting to add learning to someone's plan, and I can't find them, even though I'm looking them up by EmplID.

Students who do not have a UA job are inactive as learners until they Some POIs will also fall into this category. Have the learner You should then be able to find them. If you still can't find them, contact the 24/7 to file a ticket.

I was adding to someone's Learning Plan and clicked Enroll, and now I'm enrolled in the class instead of them.

This is a known issue that crops up when a training coordinator clicks Enroll while attempting to add learning to someone else's plan. To avoid the issue, click Plan for Later, then enroll the learner AFTER the class has been added to their plan. We expect a fix from the software vendor.

How do I get access to manage training for people who don't report to me?

You will need to request access through the Access Provisioning Tool (https://request.uaccess.arizona.edu/uaccess_appreq/) and you will need to complete the UAccess Learning: Training Coordination class in UAccess Learning.

How do I get a manager access to see employees they supervise?

All supervisor data come from UAccess Employee. The supervisor PCN should be associated with their employees in UAccess Employee. You can review the employee in UAccess Analytics using the Employee Detail Dashboard. Look up the employee by name or by Emplid. If the Supervisor Name is blank in the Current Activity section, you will need to use the MSS WorkCenter and add a supervisor name using the forms within UAccess Employee.

I want to view more than one employee's record at a time. Where can I get reports that show my whole department?

UAccess Analytics will contain this kind of report for UAccess Learning, though the reports are not yet available.

I can't see the Business Office Quick Links on the Home Page and I have already been granted access through access provisioning.

You may need to select the pagelet in Personalize Content. Click the check box in the Business Office Quick Links under the ELM On Demand Pagelets.
